I am second year graduate school student speciailizing in Human Computer Interaction and am interested in full-time employment as a UX Designer. Outside of UX, I enjoy the outdoors, baking, cooking, and all things cat.
I attended UC Berkeley where I studied and earned my undergraduate degree in Architecture and a minor in City and Regional Planning. During my studies, I was exposed to the idea of user-centered-design and knew that I wanted to work for a firm that advocated on behalf of the user.
As a designer of an architecture firm in San Francisco, I applied my knowledge of user-centered design to several healthcare and educational research facilities to create flexible, functional and aesthetically pleasing places for its users. Users of institutional spaces are often underrepresented and in the architecture field. By focusing on this type of architecture, I felt I could make a difference to the field and its users.
As an Assistant Project Manager for the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department, I scheduled, budgeted, and coordinated multiple stakeholders for several park improvement and renovation projects. Parks are often the center of the community and act as a safe place for children of all ages to go out and play. As assistant project manager, I was able to improve these important spaces to a community I cared deeply about.
I completed my graduate degree at the University of Michigan School of Information, specializing in Human Computer Interaction. In my studies, I combined my passion for user-centered design and technology to create more intuitive interfaces and interactions for users. Through UX, I am able to make greater change and reach a larger population.
As an UX Design Intern for General Electric, I developed wireframes and prototypes as well as front end development for internal applications. Internal applications are notorious for being clunky and difficult to use. I believe that all applications should receive the same care and thoughtfulness and strive to create applications that are more intuitive and easy to use
As a UX Design Specialist for SAP, I design and conduct user research for a variety of enterprise applications including: finance, marketing, human resources and asset maintenance.
